MFA expresses gratitude to health minister & CS for reforms

Srinagar, Dec 21 (KNO): Following the announcement in change of working days and duty timings for Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) and Government Dental Colleges by Jammu and Kashmir government, the Medical Faculty Association (GMC) Srinagar on Saturday expressed its gratitude to the administration for the reforms. In a statement issued by the Medical Faculty Association, Government Medical College, Srinagar, a copy, also available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), extended its gratitude to the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Higher Education, School Education & Social Welfare Ms Sakeena Masood (Itoo). “For her visionary guidance and steadfast commitment to the welfare of the medical fraternity. The recent modification in the timing order reflects her deep understanding of the challenges faced by healthcare professionals and her resolve to create a more supportive environment,” read the statement. Earlier in the day, J&K’s Health and Medical Education Department had ordered change in working days and duty timings in Government Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the order, the working days and duty timings from 1st December to 28th/29th February in Government medical Colleges and government Dental colleges of J&K would be Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 4:30 pm. Meanwhile, the MFA statement also extended thanks to the J&K Chief Secretary Atal Dullu for his consideration and efforts in addressing the matter with the urgency it required. “His unwavering support has reinforced the confidence of the faculty in the administration and highlights the government’s dedication to improving the working conditions of medical professionals. His role in facilitating this positive change is deeply appreciated,” MFA said in a statement. The statement also highlighted it’s gratitude to Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, stating that his compassionate and pragmatic approach was been instrumental in bringing about this thoughtful adjustment. “His empathetic understanding of the needs of the medical faculty and his commitment to their well-being have been pivotal in ensuring this relief. We are truly grateful for his exemplary leadership and for championing the cause of the medical fraternity, whose tireless efforts underpin the healthcare system,” MFA statement said. The statement added, “The Medical Faculty Association reiterates its commitment for improving the patient care and for the welfare of faculty. This considerate step will undoubtedly enhance the work-life balance of the faculty, allowing them to continue their dedicated service to patient care and academic excellence with renewed vigor.”—(KNO)
